Anna Kipervaser is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice engages with a range of topics including human and animal bodies, ethnicity, religion, colonialism, and the environment. Her engagement with these topics is informed by a commitment to formal experimentation, DIY and alternative processes, spanning disciplines including experimental and documentary moving image works in 16mm film and digital video.

Her work has screened internationally at festivals including Process Experimental Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Crossroads Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival, Light Field, Antimatter, Fracto Experimental Film Encounter, Imagine Science Film Festival, Prismatic Ground, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, Chicago Underground Film Festival, Athens International Film and Video Festival, Indie Grits Film Festival, Muestra Internacional Documental de Bogota, among others.

She has had solo shows at Visual Studies Workshop (Rochester, NY), Artist Film Workshop (Melbourne, AU), Playtime Cineclub (Bogota, Colombia), Whammy! Analog Media (Los Angeles, CA), the latent image (Oakland, CA), Rhizome (Washington, DC), Manifest (Cincinnati, OH), Etihad Museum (Dubai, UAE), Mono No Aware (Brooklyn, NY), Nasher Museum of Art, Durham, NC, la lumière collective (Montreal, QC, Canada), PIX Film Gallery (Toronto, ON, Canada), UNEXPOSED (Durham, NC), and at the University of Kentucky, Binghamton University, Yale University, Denison University, Colgate University, American University of Sharjah, University of Florida, and Duke University, among others. Anna’s work is currently on view at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, and she has an upcoming screening at Northwest Film Forum in Seattle.

Anna’s films are distributed by CFMDC, Alchemiya, and Canyon Cinema. Her work is included in private collections, including Chicago Film Society. She is also a painter, printmaker, educator, curator of exhibitions, programmer of screenings.
